Broulee Beauty

In February we were privileged to see my little sister’s best friend get hitched. It was down at Broulee on the NSW South Coast and it was a perfect reflection of the gorgeous couple, along with a great excuse for a relaxing weekend away!

The ceremony was held on Shark Bay on a Saturday morning. Dale looked dashing yet casual in a crisp shirt and shorts. The stunning Kayla wore an exquisite above the knee dress. The short yet sweet service was seen over by the great Linda Sewery*, who kept her cool the entire time, even when the nuptials were crashed by a bunch of dolphins playing a few hundred metres off shore 🙂

Once the ‘I dos’ had been done, dresses were stripped off for bikinis and it was time to enjoy the beach. Kiddies played in the sand, some guests braved the water and everyone enjoyed some drinks and snacks on the beach.

The lunch reception was held a walk away at the Broulee Surf Club .  Yummy food was consumed, a stunning view enjoyed and a relaxed vibe was felt by all.

The young (and not so young) ones kept partying until midnight. We had our toddler in tow so decided to take it easy and do what we usually do at Broulee – surf, eat and chill out.

My hubby reckons Broulee is one of the better places down the South Coast to surf a long board, with either North or South Beach usually offering up some waves. This trip we stayed at the BIG4 Broulee Beach Holiday and Caravan Park in a comfortable cabin. This park is awesome with direct access to South Beach, pool, BBQ area and playground for the kids. However, when we usually go down we have our beloved pooch, so we hire a pet friendly house through Stayz. That is another great thing about Broulee, it has a dog friendly beach!

My favourite place to eat at Broulee is the famous Muffin Shop just up the road in Mossy Point. Simply the best place for a scrumptious brekkie after a morning walk on the beach.

I’m hoping to get down to Broulee again sometime soon, there is something about this quiet gem that keeps me wanting more. Congrats to Kayla and Dale and thanks for letting us share in your special day!
