Some people love cleaning and throwing things out. For the rest of us, I started the Declutter for a Cause initiative. If you, or someone you know, needs help parting with ‘perfectly good’ stuff that you ‘might’ use sometime, join in today.

I run the m.a.d.woman foundation – that’s m.a.d. as in making a difference! I started it to get people connecting with each other and their communities. In Australia, we’ve had more than 7500 people join us to support more than 300,000 people in need.

The whole #DeclutterforaCause came about while I was trying to clear my own space of clutter. At the charity, we work so hard to help others, but last year a sewerage pipe burst at our premises and we lost nearly everything we had built up over seven years.

While we’ve been hunting for new premises, things are building up – at my place! I started looking around to see where I could free up a bit of space.

When throwing stuff out doesn’t come easily to you, some extra incentive is needed. When I started thinking about who could be using my stuff more than me, it because much easier to part with possessions.
